What happened to all the lovers? The beach looks empty!

Maybe it's one of these cold (for Florida) 50º days with a stiff breeze, and the lovers are cuddling elsewhere!

I know zilch about ocean beaches and a only a little more about lake beaches and river sanbars. All of you are helping educate me! So, what are the four lines of debris from? I would have expected only one, from high tide?!

Dearest Gramma Linda, this type of debris is caused my a storm at sea which roils the ocean and breaks off bits of seaweed which then floats to the surface. Thank you, Shar and Joan, for expanding my horizons, or should I say shoreline? We did visit relatives in Florida once, but my time at the beach was spent watching our 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son. I loved the view of the ocean, but brought nothing else home except some fire ant bites.

Then you need to return to a beach now, without small children, Gramma Linda. There are untold treasures to find there, especially on a beach that it as unspoiled as this one appears to be. I could never be truly happy living without a body of water nearby.

I enjoy strolling along the edge of the water with the waves rolling back and forth over your feet. I also love listening to the waves washing up against the beach of a night time to sooth you off to sleep, unfortunately I have not lived near enough to the beach for the last 10 years to hear the waves any longer.
