Hi Anne: First chance I've had some time this weekend. High winds (70 - 80 km per hour) prevented me from playing my 3rd game of golf (par 3 course only as I'm not a fanatic) this summer. Re: Australian wines... I drink quite a bit of Rosemount Estates (esp. their Shiraz) and really like Black Swan Chardonnay. Either of those wineries in your vicinity?

Jackie: Did you make it up to Jasper? About a 3 to 4 hour drive north from Banff. You would have passed the Columbia Ice Fields on the way. On the ski lift there, on a clear day, you can see all the way to Mount McKinley, the highest peak in Canada.

It's a shame your golf outing was marred by the wind. I haven't played a game for about 5 years now, and then it was also a par 3 course. Just an occassional weekend golfer with family for the fun of it but always thoroughly enjoyed it, especially as the course overlooked the harbour so the view was worth it, plus there would sometimes be some kangaroos on the course.
