Good picture but odd subject. 02/21/08 Thursday

Arh, the smell of Eucalyptus. Is that after the rain or heavy dew I wonder.
 |  |
Didn't know what that was I thought the leaves was round looking. Could have fooled me. Good colors. Thurs. Feb. 21,08
 |  |
Really difficult today. Good photo. Thanks Ian
 |  |
good puzzle, thanks
 |  |
Good shot...nice colors..enjoyed this puzzle!
 |  |
Ian thanks for the Flora. The leaves look very large - must be a close-up.
 |  |
MargBaldy, it was after rain and yes, the smell of Eucalyptus is something that no one who has smelled it ever forgets.
Cheryl, it was a bit of a close up, but the leaves in the photo were about 5 inches long anyway.
Frances, the shape of the leaves in the photo are typical of the Eucalyptus or Gum Tree. There are some varieties that have roundish leaves, but only a few.

Great photo, as usual, Ian

 |  |
Thanks Ian for showing the beautiful colours of Australia, I could almost smell the eucalyptus
 |  |
I agree with Big Red - love the colour and it is very soothing. Always lovely to walk in the bush and smell the eucalypts, listen to birds.
 |  |
Thanks Ian for the long eucalyptus . The only one I know are the round, which we use up here in various 'crafts'. Now are these the leaves the koalas eat? Amazing how how one things leads to another.
 |  |
Very fun puzzle. Thanks.

As John Williamson's song goes:

I've been around the world a couple of times, or maybe more,
I've seen the sights, I've had delights on every foreign shore,
but when my mates all ask me the place that I adore,
I tell them right away.

Give me a home among the gum More...

Interesting photo, thanks Ian.
 |  |
Wow - this one was hard. Just love the leaves - can almost smell them.
 |  |
A really satisfying and hard puzzle just the thing for a SLOW afternoon 22-2-08
 |  |
Sounds divine, Colleen. Is there food involved?
 |  |
Good one Ian, and too true about the smell!!
 |  |
Good soothing puzzle, oh Ian-with-your-mischief-puzzles! Particularly nice as our really big predicted snow storm (to be followed by an encore of ice later tomorrow! of happy days!) just started. Colleen, I kept trying to find where to turn on the sound of your singing, but was greatly disappointed nothing happened. That was fun to get those lyrics, though - even without the melody.

Great photo thanks Ian

Hello everybody. I imagine I'll be always late because of time lag. Right now it's 10:25 pm in Chile. Beautiful picture. We have plenty of these trees here along the Central and Southern regions, even export its wood. Makes me remind of long walks in the suburbs of Santiago when I was a child. There are no longer eucalyptus forest around Santiago, the city has grown too much... a pity.
 |  |
Colleen, I think it was Bullamakanka who sang 'Give me a home among the gumtrees'.nice one Ian. Now I'll leaf you all alone. cheers.
 |  |
To eaa: (groan) ... you punster!
 |  |
victoria you have/had gum tree forests and export the wood?? are you sure??
 |  |
Teresa, they do! I found this:
Blue Gum Eucalyptus (Latin: Eucalyptus globulus, Spanish: Eucalipto Azul)
The Blue Gum Eucalyptus, although not native, is now widespread in Chile. Its native country is Australia, but is used extensively in plantations in Chile for timber and paper products, More...
