One of the very few botanical names I have managed to remember. Kate/Sydney I cannot hold a candle to in that department!

A stunning shot, showing the complexity of the structure and colors of this amazing flower. We were using them once at a Garden Club convention, and when we got them from the florist they were all still closed, except for one! We had an impromptu seminar in a steamy bathroom on how to coax out the birds ... sounded like an X-rated lecture from the outside!

We've put together a number of these bird of paradise puzzles, and I'm so glad they continue to be submitted! This is the first one where I think I can actually see the "bird" ready for take-off! Please, flower people, continue to snap and submit!

Such an amazing range of colours when you look at the detail instead of being dazzled by the orange 'bits' (I wish I knew about botany to know what to call all the various bits!--are they petals or what?)

What a wonderful hard puzzle for a blustery snowy evening. l guessed what it would be early on, and it was like opening a colorfully-wrapped present that fully satisfied when done. Thank you.

We had one plant in the front yard in Southern California where I grew up. I would bloom, but it always looked kind of scroungy. Not lush like this lovely one.
