They look a lot like pansies and violas in shape and color, and like sweet peas and soy beans in shape. I was never much interested in botany, could they all be of one family?

I agree about the painting, Jean. Also, if you let your eyes relax a bit where the image is a bit blurry, it has the makings of a great abstract painting.

I think this plant is commonly known as "Bacon & Egg" plant because of the colours I guess. It is a native plant.
