My guess, Eileen, is that you saw the very same animal. Crocodiles are very long-lived reptiles, with many reports of them living over one hundred years in captivity. Some of those reports date back 3000 years in Egypt!
Like all large crocs, this ones was basically sitting still, waiting for prey to come to it. Which is an especially good strategy when you are captive!
