Joann, I just got back from a cruise through whale wintering grounds off of Baja, California. I now know how lucky you have to be to: 1. be looking in the right direction at the right time and 2. to have your camera ready and pointed in the right direction at the right time. I missed it every time. Congratulations on your two wonderful whale pictures.

Thanks everyone. We were extremely lucky, we had 6 whales dancing for us on this day and at one stage 2 were so close to the boat I could see right into their eyes. In the end I turned the camera off and just went with totally enjoying the time with them, it was truly magical.
Jean may you see many and enjoy them all!
