Beautiful picture. Can't believe I am first. That hasn't happened in a long time. Have a great Sunday.

Good morning this Sunday. Good picture, looks cold there. 02/24/08

It is 13.05 in UK but it is Sunday not Monday. I don't want to change date for location on Sudoku as I would have to wait a WHOLE day to do a puzzle.

Explanation - SUDOKU site shows Monday 25th

Good Sunday morning to all this morning. Good photo. It does look cold there Martha, if you're like me you and I wouldn't want to be there. 02/24/08

It is 14 minutes into Monday where I am on 24/2/2008. There wouldn't be any extra wait if you were here with us in sunny Australia. Good meaN to all. A great cricket game last night. The finals might be exciting after all.

Part of the fun of these puzzles is some of us are doing them tomorrow and some are yesterday. Interesting photo of Everest. It does look cold.

So who is the photographer who gave us this amazing shot? I had a friend who went to Base Camp on Everest -- that's as close as I would want to get! Even that was a serious challenge -- but the scenery (and the people) were fantastic!

A tribute to the recently Late Sir Edmund Hillary. An amaging feat. A great photo - thanks.

Beautiful!

It looks so rugged. Monday, 6.04am eastern daylight saving time.

Quite a fabulous photo! A beautiful, hostile world. There is no doubt that it is cold there with very little (or no?) oxygen. I am curious as to the photographer's identity and from where this shot was taken.

Great photo. Sudoku's home base is Melbourne so at the moment the time is Eastern Australian summer time. At the end of March it will become Eastern Australian standard time! At the moment Tasmania & Queensland are behind the rest of Eastern Australia because they don't have Summer time. South, More...

It's Sunday, Feb 24, 2008 3:43PM here. Great shot whoever took it.You rarely see it from this angle. You can just visualize the techtonic plates crashing into eachother and pushing upwards all these sharp peaks like an eggshell.

I'm glad this wasn't a hard one! It would have been REALLY hard!!
 |  |
Good point, Alison

And Sir Edmund Hillary climbed this!!!! Awesome, but, I can think of a milion things I would rather do. Very impressive picture, though.

Sir Edmund, I believe, would have not let this conversation pass without reminding the world of his late, great companion at the top of the world, Tenzing Norgay. He never, ever, failed to share the credit with his dear friend, who died so young. Hillary gave much of the monies he received from the limelight to educate Nepalese Sherpa children.
