A wonderful Joshua Tree! ...and although this picture doesn't really give you the true feeling of this park - it is one of the most special places in the US - very magical!

I've never heard of Joshua trees--interesting--is there a story re their name?

Here you go Ceri, courtesy of Wiki "The name Joshua tree was given by a group of Mormon settlers who crossed the Mojave Desert in the mid-19th century. The tree's unique shape reminded them of a Biblical story in which Joshua reaches his hands up to the sky in prayer."
