For a wild dog he looks to be in good shape with a good healthy coat - not as cute a Shultz though...

Kate - is this a wild dingo or a tame one? Handsome fellow, for sure! I would have loved to see his face.

"Them's fightin' words, lady!" Wonderful photo, Kate. Was he just out in the wild when you shot this pic? I've never seen a dingo up close -- we don't have them in our neck of the woods. Thanks!

Can dingos be completely tamed? I know some people have pet wolves, but always need to be especially careful with them.

Dingoes are naturally wild, though some people have them as pets but you need a special licence. I would never trust a "tame" one though as their instincts are very strong to attack.

I've got friends one with a part dingo and one with almost full (most on the mainland sadly have some dog in them these days). They are very loyal and absolutely love their people, to the point that they bond so well that if given to a new home they fret to death often... so my dingo owing friends More...

Joan it's in between!! It's in Dubbo Zoo & is waiting for it's dinner (I think!) definitely waiting for something. It was late in the day last July. We have a Kelpie they have some Dingo in them! He's probably just got a heavy winter coat on, our Kelpie's also looking like that at the moment. His coat is shedding slowly - probably knows there's a bit more cold to come!!

I rescued a Timber Wolf/white German Shepherd/Malamute hybrid for 12 years. Tim was almost solid white, very wolflike, and weighed 130 lbs. in his heyday. He protected me from anyone and anything -- he tolerated my college aged kids and my husband, though I couldn't get a goodnight kiss in front More...

Great shot, Kate and I've surely enjoyed reading everybody's dingo lore. Kay, I look forward to seeing your big guy's photo! A dog that thinks like a cat, Minnie -- intriguing!

Hi all
I used to live on an Aboriginal community up the top end, let me tell you the dingos didn't look this good though, they were mangy, scaveging, but very timid, I used to have them hanging around my office looking for a feed, lots intebred with the camp dogs too, they were on the skinny More...
