Talk about anything and everything, but place your comments in the right categories so that people on slow internet connections can still enjoy the site. Also, be nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

Handsome group of boys. Notice how they have their spears ready in case the boys behind them chase that cat their way.

The hats look from Etiopia, the coat looks from Manchuria, the complexion and jewels look from Africa, the tools look from anywhere with a very old culture. Where does this group of well dressed boys come from?
My sister makes costumes. She wants to know.

Flores is in Indonesia. There was a previous picture from there without an explanation so I looked it up. Interesting place and good picture.

It would be interesting to see the actual dance - perhaps I might get over to Flores one day, it certainly looks like a beautiful place judging by all the photos we've seen to date.

It doesn't look as though the people in the background are dressed in tradiitional garb. Must be some sort of festivity.

This is the boys' group, I have sent the girls' group too, but haven't seen that one on so far. They were rehearsing for a performance for Indonesian Independence Day.

Kay, have you ever been to a Pow-Wow? I'm sure their must be some in your area. We have one every year on CC. Tribes come from all over Canada, US and South America. They all wear their regallia and dance. The local food is great here too. They usually last three days. Just look up PowWow on the internet or your local tribes.

Ps Kay. You can't take pictures of the ceremonial dances but if you ask the Indians individually, they usually allow you to take their pictures.
