I hadn't heard about poison or drugs, but there are many species of Hellebore. This one is Helleborus x sternii 'Boughton Beauty'. I've had this one many years, but I am seeing lots of new cultivars in the nurseries lately. A new fashion in hellebores. They are also calked Lenten Roses.
