The Japanese Maple is one of my favorite trees. We have both red and greed ones in our front yard. The one in this photo is a really pretty flaming red -- I love it.

That is glorious! We have some kind of trees which are a lovely dark red right now (spring). I had thought they were Japanese maples but perhaps not.
