What beautiful colors! The puzzle was a pleasure to do but while I sit here with my cold hands the tulips remind me that you're having summer and I wish I were there. Ah well, in January I will be!

Anne from AZ - it only got cold here last week, and you are already hoping for warmer weather?? I know we desert rats chill easily, but I am enjoying it so far.
Kate from Sydney - beautiful tulips! My mom and I used to plant tulips and daffodils every year so I always think of that when I see these flowers.

Kate do you really grow all these beautiful flowers yourself or do you live near a botinacal garden or nursery or whatever?

Kate, this picture makes me wonder what the tulips I planted this fall will look like. I wish I could put more in the ground, but it is frozen now.

Hello everyone & thanks, glad you like them. DotCom, they came from a local supermarket! I bought them last Autumn for my sister, Maureen when I visited her in Dubbo - April/May. They were submitted on 9th July that's nearly 5 months ago! Terri I have grown tulips in Sydney. Kept the bulbs in the More...

Hi Everyone Maybe the fridge not the freezer for the bulbs. Most bulbs also do well in pots and can be quite densly packed in to the pot. It make for great portable colour for the garden or you can bring them inside when they start to flower. Cheers

Thanks for the info Kate. I bought hybred tulips from Sterling Forest Gardens many, many years ago and they bloomed beautifully every year since then but this summer I had a lot of masonry put in near them and I doubt if they'll come up next year. I did then plant new bulbs but they weren't hybred. Too lazy to put them in freezer, I let winter germinate bulbs.

We have a beautiful bulb festival called Floriade each spring here in Canberra. A good excuse to visit if you can find the time. A different theme each year for the pictures they make from the bulbs and the sculptures and entertainment. Plus for the kids young and old, a gnome decorating competition.
