Well, I read that his bite can be fatal as can that of the beaded lizard. Other lizzies are just uglah. Who had the nerve to capture this pic?

Yes, I'm sure that this is an iguana, Joan -- not a venomous gila monster. The iguana makes a good pet and is not venomous at all. Anyway, it's an excellent close-up photo. He's a handsome lizard!

OK, I like iguanas fine. When I was in Costa Rica they would sit near the outdoor eating area, just as cute as dogs or cats! Well, just as nervy anyway!

I had a pet iguana once - his body grew to the size of a cat's, and he was "potty trained" (he would return to his glass aquarium to go potty - thank heavens!), and he seemed to love me a lot. He wanted to be with me and would sometimes lift the bed covers to climb under them to lie More...

Joan, The important word is "warmth". My boa learned to open my closet so he could join me under the covers to get warm. It was quite a shock the first time and didn't do a whole lot for my love life either! This is a great photo of a very pretty iguana.
