Isn't this called a ship not a boat?

A ship is a boat but not all boats are ships!

Looks like a small ship to me, too, then it could be a ferry boat!

Ferries are caled boats, I think.

Whatever - boat, ship - still a self-evident title (however, not complaining about any provided title! as they seem to live in cyberspace)

I'd vote for ferry, and I'd love to go for a ride on the ferry!

When we have stayed in Hobart, if it was foggy I would jump on the commuter ferry that crosses the Derwent River and stand outside to experience the foggy crossing and listen to the fog horns. I've also been invited into the wheelhouse to observe, ask questions etc. Great fun.

I have never been on a ferry, although, we have the service here...to cross the Mississippi River from the East Bank to the West Bank. They don't look as nice as the one in the picture, but, I will try a ride anyway.

I was on a ferry that served as part of the highway system. Instead of a bridge over this large lake, they had a ferry boat. It even had the appropriate highway sign affixed to it and lanes painted on it. (Or was I drinking?)

Pat, do as Elizabeth does. Jump on a ferry when it is foggy. It is eerie standing in the fog wondering where you are headed, hearing the muted sounds of birds, foghorns, and buoys sounding.

This appears to me like a Cruise Ship of some kind. I had a dinner cruise on one at Duluth MN. on Lake Superior, the first week of Sept and just came back from Branson Mo. where I was on a cruise on the Table Rock Lake. This was for a dinner and a show afterwards. Both time I was on a tour.
