Cockatoos are very loyal and sensitive. If their Cockatoo mate dies they will die. If there is no Cockatoo mate, they will regard their pet Human as their mate and will die if their owner dies.

The Silky Oak is an interesting tree also. It grows to over 100 feet tall, has spectacular golden flowers and beautiful timber. See photos of the tree on Google.

All you people who like those Bl**dy cockatoos can have them in YOUR garden. I have no grapefruit left on my tree and very few oranges. If they ate the fruit it would not be too bad but they just pull the fruit from the tree, eat the seed in the middle and we are left with smelly rotting fruit everywhere.
Ian, the fruit bats also like the Silky Oaks.

Oh how I agree with June and Ian. Unfortunanetly we had to remove a silky oak from the front garden when its roots started to crack the house. jacalmi they are NOT nice in the garden. The darling things ate all our quinces, destroyed several shrubs by picking little bits off them and the noise is appalling. Bah humbug.

I agree with June, the cockatoos when they get bored will chew on anything and everything. They can be wickedly destructive at times.
