That was surprisingly easy - but what is it?

This is different.
Looks like a pencil or charcoal drawing.

What is an Escher print?
Hi Christina--I was told the rains were leaving us, but my husband is in Austin and says it is heading our way.

Google Escher and have a look at his wonderfully clever pictures. This is an interestiing picture. Is it a drawing or a paper project?

An optical illusion?

Maurits Cornelis Escher (June 17, 1898 – March 27, 1972), usually referred to as M. C. Escher, was a Dutch graphic artist known for his often mathematically inspired woodcuts, lithographs and mezzotints which feature impossible constructions, explorations of infinity, architecture, and tessellations. I Googled him. This is not one of his.

This is interesting. My neighbor was selling a book on Escher a few weeks ago, but I couldn't think of anyone to buy it for. My friend's husband is fond of wearing Escher-print ties!

I much prefer the flowers, children, animals, anything but this.

Still trying to figure this one out. A sketch? Esher was known to draw physically impossible connections that looked plausible. This one is physically possible.

After DotComs information (thank you) I looked through all my art books and Escher is not mentioned. But it will be my luck he was on one of my exams and I missed the question.

I agree, DotCom! I have an Escher jigsaw puzzle which is all grey, white & black. It was fun to do but also nearly impossible! Didn't pull it apart & pack it away for months after I'd completed it!

If I were Kyle, I'm not sure that I'd like being portrayed as something that looks like the eversible esophagus of a planarian. 10/01/09
