It's fun having a picture which makes you do the puzzle to figure out what the picture is, and when you're done you're still not sure! As Vici says, they must be lovely red crystals.

Visit your local museum to see more lovely minerals. If they don't have an earth science display look about for a local gem club. Sometimes the search for lovely minerals is half the fun.

This is lead chromate from the Adelaide Mine at Dundas Tasmania. The specimen is approx 60mm across.The white crust is Dundasite (as it was first identified from this mine), a hydrated lead aluminimum carbonate and the yellow mineral is Limonite, a hydrated iron oxide. Supergran is saying too much technical info, Mr Bob
