Kate - you've taken a rather commonly found mushrom and made a striking, somewhat mysterious looking photo! I like this one a lot, design and texture-wise!

I try not to read the captions, so I was expecting a flower! I've never seen a mushroom like this. Is it edible? Makes a nice picture and a good puzzle.

Oyster mushroom are delicious! And eating the ones you have foraged from the wild is particularly fun ... though you DO have to be certain of your identification before you eat wild mushrooms! I picked a big orange one that smelled good, and I remembered getting a chicken mushroom from that area More...

Kate, DID you eat it...or just photograph it? They're still a bit expensive as an exotic in our shops and unfortunately I've developed a taste for them.
