Very uncluttered photo. Would make a good hard one.

One of the great lighthouses of the Outer Banks.
 |  |
Is that the 'keepers' house or a museum? Just curious, as almost all of our lightkouses are automated now.
 |  |
CG, same here. Probably a museum piece! LOL Had a friend who was a lighthouse keeper for a number of years off Australian coast. Very isolated living, even though there were three families living on the island. They had to be jacks of all trafes to fix everything.

All shades of grey! But still an easy one... maybe because I accidently caught a glimpse of the pic before it hid itself! I do try not to look, but have to peek to see where it's up to & sometimes... drat it... I spot the pic!

would make a fantastic hard on rotation!
We traveled down the Oregon coastline on our holiday to the US and saw some beautiful lighthouses. One we even got to put our heads in the 'light' area. It was not the light that roatated, but the whole top section!

We love to visit light houses, and they are often in spectacular locations.

My first thought also, was that this would make a great hard - why are we never satisfied??!!!

Hi Bluey, perhaps we are never satisfied, do you think, because we are all becoming jigsaw puzzle junkies ?
I know I need my puzzle fix on just about a daily basis.

Liked this one. Have always enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles but received one as a gift that was a bit tricky. There was no picture (the picture on the box was not the puzzle. There was a short mystery story to give you clues. Great sense of accomplishment when I finally finished it!!

Ah, the outer banks - land of lighthouses and graveyard of the Atlantic.
 |  |
What does graveyard of the Atlantic mean? Love lighthouses - used to play in the Cape Otway lighthouse as the keeper was a family friend. We lived nearby. I'm nowchecking out the lighthouse and area on the net. 26 Oct 07

Found it on the National Parks Service - Throughout history, the watery perils that exist off North Carolina’s coast have endangered mariners. Hundreds of ships have fallen prey to these formidable currents, fierce storms and shifting shoals....the infamous Graveyard of the Atlantic. 26 Oct 07
