I've been reading some books by Russell Thorndike ... Dr. Syn, etc.
The one I'm presently reading takes place on the 'High Seas', and this picture gets me singing "Here's to the feet that have walked the plank, ....."

Hi all wherever you are - haven't been on site for months so thought I'd check in and see what everybody is up to. Nobody here yet.
That rope looks awfully attractive. My twin boys graduate this year and we are getting stretched kind of thin. The ceremony is next week - we are on decorating, More...

There's something in the water around the centre of the photo. Could it be a big crocodile?

I think it's a carton of some sort!

This photo does put one in the mood for a high seas adventure! It's something about the lines swinging freely in the wind, over the water. Great photo and fun puzzle. My compliments to the photographer.

I grew up in Myrtle Beach SC and that thingy in the center of the picture seems to be what we call a white cap. It happens when a wavelet gets a little too big for his britches and curls over.

Feels like it could be a west coast of Canada picture, thank you.

I thought that too, Sis Emma, but when you zoom it it looks too square even thought the pixels tend to square things! there is a white cap in the left lower corner

What is that in the distance?
A square sea monster then!

No, that white area is definitely not water. Surely is a beautiful photo! Sudokulanders!

Judy's comment brings me to another question, completely off-topic of this puzzle. I assume that Good Maen means something like "good morning." Is this correct, and if so, what is the significance of using upper case on the various letters in th word maen? Just trying to learn Aussie-speak.

I really like this wonderfully simple, restful picture.

Kay, 'maen' is international! It stands for morning afternoon evening night. Capitalise which it is where you are. For example, now its just after 10pm in Australia, I'd say Good maeN! In the wee small hours after midnight though, I'm never sure whether to call it night or morning so I invariably capitalise both! MaeN! Hope that helps!

Thanks, Kate. I've never seen nor heard that expression until I started doing the jigsaws here. Now it all makes sense! Good maeN to everyone.
