You better believe it, Judy!!!!!

We have Red Tailed Hawks here. Gorgeous birds. They like to dine on my baby chicks and ducklings, and there's nothing I can do about it, or would want to. They need to eat and my chickens, specifically, reproduce faster than the Hawks can eat More...

Awesome photo, Peg! Very pragmatic approach to a natural event, Heidi! I keep telling myself the same sort of thing when I go out & find all my magnolia blooms have been eaten by possums!!!

mAen all - Thanks for your kind comments. This bird (not sure if it's female or male) just decided to check out our bird feeder - filled with sunflower seeds for the smaller birds... All the little birds disappeared, but not a fat squirrel, which the bird swooped down and carried off! Quite a sight!

Interesting closeup! I've only seen them soaring or sitting on a fence post. Nice to get some detail!

Wow, Peg! I didn't think the Red Tail could take a squirrel!! I had a close up glimpse of a Red Tail having lunch on another bird on the flat roof outside my office window once. He dared me to intervene. I didn't get much work done that day. Well, it really didn't take all that long for it to pick the bones.
