Goodness me, does Eden even come on to the site anymore. I haven't seen her name for a hell of a long time.
Lovely photo.

Pacific Ocean! Southern NSW very beautiful place. Lots of old whaling stories!

Snap Anne. No comments when I started! You're quicker with the fingers!!

This looks like a place I'd like to visit. Good puzzle, too.

Goodpicyure, fun puzzle!

How do they move the boats out? Interesting shot.
 |  |
Nice place to stop for a refuel - good fish and chips down by the jetty as I recall too!

I'd like to know what method others use to solve these jigsaws. Maybe you have a good method which I could learn to use to make solving faster and/or more fun. Please reply.

DotCom - I am using the more difficult, and time-consuming, rotation and hidden picture method; basically, using shapes and colors but more like the old-fashion method (with non-computer pieces). Often with the hard puzzles, if I don't have time, I just do normal with all the pieces not rotated.

I would say the boats are moved out verrrry
carefully.

Thanks Candice. Evidently you try to make it hard for yourself. I'm not very fond of the advantages of making things hard for yourself except to lose weight, build muscle tone or empress somebody. I usually try to make things easier for myself because I'm very lazy and shoud be doing chores or running errands instead of playing with a computer.

We used to take the kids to Merrimbula for the September school holidays to recover from the Victorian winter and always went to Eden to see the fishing boats. Beautiful part of the world.

Actually Eden has quite a large natural harbour called Twofold Bay & in the 1800's when whaling was still carried there was large whale which used to herd other whales into the harbour, then the whaling boats would come in after and get what they needed! Not too safe for whales then! It's the port More...

I'll take that as a compliment DotCom - however, if I do start with the edges or like in this puzzle, do the stripe section, and match through the colors.

If anyone wants to see Eden cut & paste this website:

web address I should have said!

Lovely pic, lovely place, and very interesting! Whose??
 |  |
Dotcom, I just try to do them with a calm mind. I often find myself 'competing against time, or minimal moves. I actually have more fun when I am not pushing any agenda.
 |  |
Kate - now I feel real stupid. I thought the photo was submitted by Eden who used to be on the site a long time ago!!!
DUH!!!
 |  |
Good answer, Dino. I do them for relaxation. Although the easy one sometimes can be done in minimal moves and that is an entertaining game itself. DotCom, you are a regular on here -- I would think you had a perfect system doped out by now. How do you work your puzzles?

If I remember correctly, Eden is the location for the Zane Gray(?) book 'East of Eden'.
Or am I imagining it?
 |  |
I thought East of Eden was by Steinbeck, and I think it's set in California. Or is there another one?

Judy: I put the corners into their place, pile the middle pieces in the bottom left and the side pieces high or left on their sides then use bottom right corner to collect all right edge, top right corner to collect all top edge etc, then use top of center pieces to collect centers by rows and lay them in.

Love this picture, I'd hate to be in a hurry to get my boat out in the pack. January 31,08

I often watch the boats come into the local boat basin at the end of the day. The captains are so skilled that I suspect the large boats could turn on a dime if necessary! I wish I were half as good at backing my car into a tight place.
