These birds are an introduced species here and are becoming one of the biggest threats to native birds as they have no fear and attack ferociously to claim other birds nests. The CSIRO (Australian Govt Scientific Company) have tried many different ways to try to get rid of them humanly but they are very clever and learn to avoid the traps

We have a noisy, messy counterpart here in the States, the starling. If I remember right, somebody/organization/whatever wanted to have every bird mentioned by Shakespeare. The starling flourished. Don't know what happened to the others. I'm sure wikipedia would have more and better info, but I'm too lazy to look...

That's the Australian native Miner, Manorina melanocephala. They feed on nectar, fruits, insects & occasionally they'll eat small reptiles & amphibians.
They're actually very tenacious birds & I've seen them "having a go" at sea eagles when they (the eagles) are soaring More...
