They don't like to share a feeder. Sue has solved this by putting two feeders. Nice capture on camera!

I love it! One of our favorite pastimes is watching the hummers. We have our feeders but so far have only had one customer. Hoping the flock isn't far behind.

Lovely capture, Sue! I have to place feeders all around the yard so there aren't TOO many hummer wars!

I only have six [6] feeders out right now, as soon as it gets warmer and stays warm will put out the other six [6]. No, they do not like to share that is one of the reasons I have so many feeders.

Sue. What do you put in the feeders? I have a lot of seed feeders about but have never used hummingbitd feeders.

Fabulous photo, Sue. You are so lucky having hummingbirds wild around you. It's lovely to hear that so many of you feed them too.

Shar, I have just used sugar water, boiled just until the sugar dissolves well and kept in the frig. I think I use 1 part sugar to 2 parts water. If you want you can tint it but they seem to find it even if it is not colored. Or you can buy it at the many stores.

Great photo Sue. I tried to take a photo of some hummingbirds while we were visiting friends in Canada. Unfortunately, after a lot of waiting, the flash went off at the crucial moment and all I captured was a blur about 2 feet away from the feeder. Boy, do they move fast!

Like Ian, I saw humming birds when in Canada. Fascinating little birds. Love your bright feeders Sue.

Stunning shot Sue. I have never seen a feeder like this before, is it just for nectar type of feed?

Thanks Kathy, good to know. They must be incredibly smart birds because the brains' food is sugar and oxygen. Hehehe!

Beautiful picture. Thanks for sharing, Sue, and thanks for all the additional info. I've never put out feeders of any kind as we've always had cats on the farm.

That was fascinating--I had difficulty in 'unscrambling' the finished picture because (a) we don't have hummers and I'm not aware of their habits and not used to them being so little (b) I'm not used to feeders like this so they looked almost like red beer glasses suspended from a ceiling but not More...

Here is a nice link concerning hummingbirds and their nectar http://www.for-the-birds.info/hummingbird-food.htm
They are extremely territorial for such tiny creatures -- so follow Sue's lead, y'all.

Thanks everyone. I live in a wooded area so we get many different types of birds. Check out my page to see the new friends I found in the garden today.

Same here Ceri! Took till the very last piece, which had the bird on it, before I realised what it was.
Brilliant Sue.
