Despite his name, this is not a chipmunk, but a squirrel. I have one out in the yard who comes to us for a peanut butter crackers whenever he sees us leave the house. He will take it from your hand, but most aren't that tame.

Liz - As I was reading the comments, I was also thinking that it was a squirrel. We have tons around our house, but they keep there distance from us.

They are beautiful animals.. until they finish all your fruits on the trees without leaving you any...!!! :)

Reminds me of my trips to Canada and the States. I loved the squirrels, my cousin would always warn me as one approached by saying 'now Jenny don't scream!'

They are fun to feed and watch-but keep your distance.My neighbor got bitten and had to have a painful series of rabbies shots just to be sure.

Sorry to bring up the negative points when we were all thinking 'how cute & cuddly'

I love to watch the squirrels romping around the yard, but I do know that they can bite right through a finger (not mine!).
