We had a pet chipmunk for several years. He was the last of the babies alive when its mother was run over by a car. My brother brought him home. He was hairless, and eyes still closed. My mother raised kept him alive and raised him. He never bit us. I don't know that I would trust a wild one, More...

Despite his name, this is not a chipmunk, but a squirrel. I have one out in the yard who comes to us for a peanut butter crackers whenever he sees us leave the house. He will take it from your hand, but most aren't that tame.

Reminds me of my trips to Canada and the States. I loved the squirrels, my cousin would always warn me as one approached by saying 'now Jenny don't scream!'

I love to watch the squirrels romping around the yard, but I do know that they can bite right through a finger (not mine!). Also, they're a bit ratty-looking up close and they do quickly harvest fruit bushes/trees. I gather you don't have squirrels down under? They're busy, busy, busy all the More...
