Must be me. I can't recognise this at all! I thought it was part of a spider or insect. Haven't a clue about the story. Am I being stupid? Onto hard one now..........

carrie, these are the dead flower heads of a banksia flower which i think belongs to the protea group. there is a famous aussie childrens story using native flora as the characters. bansia men were scary.

I don't know what this is either but the colors are pretty.

Thanks Ian a great picture and I see where the mouths would be and open after the seeds fall. We learn everyday.

This is a great picture but it is difficult to see exactly what it is. Fun puzzle, tho and will do the research for learn more.
