Another one of Fi's car wrecks?
 |  |
Must be!!!! Don't they recycle cars there?
 |  |
dorthea - these car wrecks are probably hundreds of miles or more (even a thousand or so) from the nearest town. Other than people helping themselves to the servicable parts, there's nothing much else they can do with them.
 |  |
It's a puzzle!
 |  |
Where are the pictures of all these wrecks taken? I must remember not to drive there.
 |  |
Ann - I think they have been taken in the Northern Territory (top end of Australia) where Fi from there has to travel with her work.
 |  |
How do the people who wreck these vehicles survive if it is so far in the outback when they wreck them?
 |  |
I think I would rather walk!!!!
 |  |
Yeah, I hope they don't just leave the people there! We really forget the huge distances in your wonderful country!
 |  |
Arriving home from the latest Demolition Derby, Milt gave careful consideration as to whether he would fix the car and give it one more try or just find another vehicle. Off he went looking for the right car, and lo and behold.....

Thanks for sharing.

Very funny Canuck Greg. I wonder what Milt found along the way???

Another one bites the dust.

There was a program on the ABC here about how ingenious our indigenous people were when it came to keeping some of these old cars (and some not so old which had been roughly treated) going. I think it was called the Bush Mechanic. Have only heard about it but would like to have seen it as it was apparently quite interesting.

...you'd be staggered to know the number of tourists who are responsible for some of these wrecks and no they are not just left there; at the expense of the Australian taxpayer, ambulances travel huge distances to them, passing motorists attend to them and of course our wonderful Flying Doctor More...

Fascinating stuff! I am learning the 'darnedest things' about the rest of the world, simply by playing at jigsaws. (And they said I'd never amount to anything.) What ele, people?

Does anyone remember the old Berma Shave signes that used to line US highways? eg. 'Down the road, lickety split, beautiful car, wasn't it.'
 |  |
Sure, Island Bea, I remember them! Funny stuff. Psst, we are dating ourselves.
