It's not my photo but it looks a bit like Catherine Palace in St Petersburg. Is it?

Now I was about to ask if this was yours, Ian. It certainly has that ornate look.
 |  |
Wonder what it cost to build such an ornate building. So many of today's new buildings are so boring.
 |  |
Where are all these wonderful buildings?
 |  |
Another beautiful looking building. If it's not Catherine Palace, could it possibly be Versaille as there have been quite a few photos of there on here lately.
 |  |
Sure wish the comments would tell us where and what this building is...I think it is fascinating and I would like to know more about it.
 |  |
Another lovely old building!
 |  |
I googled Catherine Palace St. Petersburg and this is not it. Catherine Palace has four pillars over the main enterance and on either side.
 |  |
DotCom, I don't think this is the front entrance, it looks more like a balcony. You are correct, but the pillars on either side of the entrance to Catherine Palace show a golden Hercules, apparently holding up the building. They are quite distinctive. However, the whole building is painted blue, it is really spectacular, and that's why I suspect it might be Catherine Palace.
