shar and Judy, thanks for the compliments but I'm afraid it's not one of my photos.. The photo shows a glider of some sort, but I'm afraid I'm not into gliding. As you can see, the glider has no engine and I still haven't grasped the concept of flying in a perpetual state of emergency.

I guess I am old-fashioned, but, I'll stick with the planes with engines. Pretty picture, though.

Yes, I'm with you Ian. I like to think there are several possibilities for a skilled pilot to consider in an emergency.

Lovely photo - the thought of gliding, just whooshing along without the engine noise is very appealing, but ...........

Joan, I sing second alto, and also play the saxophone, so I'm ready to get that duet going, LOL. As for gliders, my Dad pulled gliders (up into the air) when glider pilots were being trained during WWII, but he never flew one himself.
