Fly paper is not the "traditional" way to catch bugs... Mother Nature has used these critters for millions of years before "newfangled" fly paper less than 150 years ago.
That is one big spider. Look for t his pic on the Sudoku medium page in early May.

Morning all. Jim, traditions and fly-paper are man made, spiders are nature made!

As far as I'm concerned, it's large enough to be people control. Feeling the way I do about spiders, I think I'll stay with fly swatters.

Awww come on guys!
This one is harmless!
These ones are fairly slow... so they don't scamper like huntsmans do.
They are responsible for the magnificent 'perfect' webs too that can be half a metre across the main circle.
Ever notice how they have two different kinds of web? The strong, non-sticky webs for the architecture and the fine sticky ones for the netting in between.

She was really only about 1.5 cm in width. I was just lucky with my close-up. That summer my verandah was home to 6 of them, each in her own screen space. I'd watch them rebuild and repair those intricate webs every morning.
