They seem to be everywhere at the moment, I have some who sit on the power lines after helping themselves to my plums, I have posted a photo of them. They are beautiful to look at but they are well known for their noise.

Beautiful bird, not something we see in the wild here. We do have ordinary crows however who can be really noisy, especially early in the morning. That plus the blue jays at our bird and squirrel feeder.

Beautiful birds but they can be very destructive. Some come and sit on my back fence everyday hoping to be fed. (Then remove 50+ grapefruit from the tree if they are not)

Wow! This makes our plain, red cardinals seem tame!

I should also add that they can make the most amazing pets and are very loyal to their owners. When I was little my mothers pet cocky could mimic her voice and call all of the children by name to get us to scratch his comb.

The ever practical Mister Bob admires Gail's bird-proof decking, Supergran admires the bird and the bush. No prizes for guessing why the town is called Cockatoo!!! Is it a disapointed look in the bird's eye, no wood to destroy here?

Beautiful bird, should have a more creative name. Sulphur smells. Why not yellow beacon, bannana crowned, gold crested or lemon slice...
(I never can remember how to spell bananna.)
