Is that a brick garden wall beyond?

No Kate, it was a bit of a post and rail fence, but overexposed because the focus of the photo was the shady, cool effect from a wide and quite low verandah. Taken at Dundullimal, an old slab-sided homestead on the outskirts of Dubbo.

beautiful contrasts Ian, were you just visiting Dubbo? Out there you certainly need a cool verandah.

Not only cool as in 'cool man' but also cool as in 'not hot'... Grew up with a veranda and love them. Thanks Ian love the photo.

It does look like a very cool veranda. The only things missing from the picture are the oak rocking chairs that we would have lined up on such a veranda in the U.S. south! Nice photo.

Thanks, Ian, I visited the page. How will our artifacts look one day, I wonder. Can't imagine all our technology being quaint, but it will be provided anybody is around to see.

Boy Judy, that was pretty profound. I think the trick is going to be to predict which of the nicknacks we commonly use around the house will become valuable collectors' items in the future - and then make sure we don't throw them away.

Funny to think of an iPhone sitting behind a velvet rope, isn't it!
