This is the easiest hard l've ever done. 20 minutes, which is a record for me, although not for you all out there. But then, my fingers don't scramble that fast either.

A favourite bird of mine. It is either a joung bird or a female as the males have an orange head. Nice photo Joann.

I agree with June, it is my favourite bird too - and we have lots of good looking birds here in OZ. For personality, it is the Kookaburra - whenever I do something particularly stupid there is always a Kookaburra somewhere close in a tree laughing at me. Or the Galah - eccentric, playful, noisy, mate for life.

June, you are right on both counts, it is a young female.
I have just realised how dry my yard was in 2009 when I see the amount of brown in this, with all the rain lately it is very green!

These are lovely to look at but I must admit I love the magpie as they walk along like little people and seem to understand what ever you say to them. They are also very playful.

We do have a wonderful lot of native birds when you think of it! My favourites are the wrens. It is such fun to watch Mr superb blue wren and his harem of jennys. Magpies can be very demanding though, Mrs maggie used to come and tap on the kitchen window if I was late putting out their treats!
