Does the red circle with the white line mean you can't go that way?

That was a little hard didn't look at the picture, glad I didn't have it on rotate!

Dorthea - yes the red circle with white line means do not enter or wrong way. This is pretty standard around Europe.
Karen, I agree, different but fun.

Weird sign I have to have interper to explain it to me, or I'd be in trouble. January 29,08

Terri - not only in Europe. Have you really not such one in North America and/or Australia? Be that as it may, I saw the same as well in Asia as in Africa too.

Good challenge.

In our area the sign will have a slash [\]through it and that means NO.

Jean-Paul, of course we do. They are international signs, as your remarks indicate. Apparently not everybody is into signage.

I have never seen a sign like this and would be very bewildered if I encountered one. With a bit of thought I can fugure it out. T can go where the arrows point and there is a stop sign at the cross streets some of which are one way! Fun puzzle and another learning experience. Thanks.

A lot to absorb from one sign -- I wouldn't want to decipher it from a moving car! Interesting that the 'stop' signs have the English rather than German ... It's easier for us English-speakers that it is the 'universal language', though many Americans miss out on a lot by not learning another language.

I have been all over the U.S. and have never seen a sign like this one. They better have a place to pull over, if there is one, so I can decipher. =0)

What a wonderful way to travel - by puzzle. Some years ago my hubby's cousin was over here from the UK and was looking for the 'Halt' sign instead of stop. But all those signs are international which makes it easier for most of us, with just a little reading up on signage. Managed to get across Canada without a word except for place names. Fun puzzle and thanks for sharing.

That was fun, what I thought would be hard turned out to be quite easy!

Our signs are similar, Jean Paul. I certainly understand it. Yellow signs are usually on minor roads so there wouldn't be all those connections. Our major roads have green backgrounds, or blue on motorways.

PS very good jigsaw thanks, ?Sue!

Methinks me see the hand of Ian in this one!!

The top of the sign arrow pointing left is to Bahnhof, it is the end of the road, from there you take the ferry (by foot) into Denmark. The next arrow pointing to the left is for taking ones car by ferry into Denmark. The next arrow pointing to the right takes one to either Lubeck or Kiel. The More...

A new photo! Great sign.

Waiting for Kate's answer. Sue, you do have an eye for the unusual -- a flair!

Excellent puzzle. Difficult enough to be interesting. Sue, thanks for the information, my family roots are from Denmark.

How disorienting it must be to drive overseas where the autos' steering wheels and lanes are opposite of what we are used to here in the states and Ca. I should think I would have to hire a driver or go by tour.
