Beautiful picture and challenging puzzle. How appropriate to have a red Danger sign at a place called Cape Fear. What is the danger and how did the place get its name?

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts. Gramma Linda, the danger is "deep water and strong currents." Cape Fear was originally named "Cape Fair," and was changed after a particularly violent storm at some point in history.
