Great picture! Not often we southern hemishpere people see a close-up of this creature with its cheeks stuffed!

This is at our cabin in West Virginia, where we feed the birds and other critters (while the Westies keep them on their toes!). It's amazing how much they can stuff into their cheeks to transport to their home! We used to have some small red squirrels too, but the big gray squirrels seem to have replaced them.

Thanks, very cute. We have chipmunks and red squirrels in our yard. The odd time we will see black and grey squirrels, but the red squirrels (which are about half the size of the black and grey ones) chase them away.

Our squirrels are long, skinny and grey. Not too interesting except when jumping from tree to tree or scampering across phone wires. l believe we have other species but they're not so visible.
This one is adorable and made a fun puzzle.

You see this kind of thing caricatured in cartoons but to see that it is real. It is so cute

Too bad I didn't have a "before" and "after" shot of this little guy, so you could really see how loaded his cheeks are! Chipmunks are cute ... and FAST! I once raised two baby flying squirrels, and they were so light that when they climbed up a bare leg or arm, they just More...

that's one cute chipmonk! We have some living in our front yard and in summer the cat lays out there all day, hoping to catch one. They must have a tunnel under the ground because from time to time the cat will chase a path back and forth. To my knowledge, they've escaped her.
