Looks like that tree has been hugged a LOT...that's how it must have gotten to be so HUGE!!!

Just magnificent! But it only takes one greedy developer to chop it down ... we had a grove of towering beech trees that the people wanted to preserve, and protested a developer's plans ... so he chopped them down in the middle of the night, and it's now being graded for a lovely Walgreen's Pharmacy ... ah, progress!

So wonderful! Awesome is such an overused word...trees like this are completely deserving of the term.

June, we were staying with friends at Ulladulla and they took us for a drive to see the tree. Fortunately for the tree I can't remember where we went.
I asked them to pose for me to show the size of the tree. It was a wonderful, stately, dignified HUGE tree, Spotted Gum I think.

Thanks Ian, this is magnificent, here's hoping it's in a National Park so it is preserved!
