Gums seem to have no end of attractiveness during the seasons. Wild flowers, lovely foliage, fascinating Gum Nuts and interesting bark. I wish they grew here.

Stagelady, yes the Flowering Gum is a tree. In fact, all Gum Trees produce flowers but most of them are relatively obscure. Many though, produce wonderful, brightly coloured flowers. This one was chosen by Anne and lives in a large pot in our courtyard.

Good hunting.
They are planted freely along some of Melbourne's more important streets and in January/February they present a spectacularly beautiful sight - covered with flowers of all shades from deep red through orange to pink.

The flowers are so different from anything that I've seen here, and the color of this one is so intense! The gum tree does appear to be very interesting. Thanks, Ian.
