Hard to capture on film the beauty of a sunset/sunrise. Very good photo.

Lovely photo - a bit tricky though.

I don't know exactly what my method is for solving these puzzles, but whatever it is, it's not very effective on this one! This one gave me more fits than perhaps any other I've done on this site.

Think I will walk outside tonight at sunset and just watch the sky...I'll bet we have some very pretty ones, too...but, I am always too busy.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Larryville sometimes I create the borders and then fill in the rest but with this one I found it easier to start with the top border and build downwards the colours were easy to match that way.

Very peaceful looking scene. I would love to be standing on that cliff watching the sunset.

Lovely photo, but too hard one. That is enough .It is Mid night now, our local time .Time to bed.Good night.

Sunsets are my favorite puzzle subjects. Thank you to the photographer for sharing such a beautiful scene.

Dear Larryville - Just pile all the pieces up and they will fall into place bottom right to top left. Great photo, great puzzle. Did you take this one Ian? 12:45 AM here, not quite time for bed yet!

DT, no I didn't take this one, but I wish I had. It's such a pretty picture.

It was a strange feature I had picked up on a while ago, when I grouped liked colour pieces together to make room, they often came out in exactly the right order for that section of the puzzle. DT fro FL has really let the cat out of the bag. Time to build a new algorithm

Thanks for answering Ian. What do ypu think of my method for solving jigsaw puzzles? It's now 2:31 AM here and I'm not even tired yet, so much fun doing puzzles like this one and playing games online.
 |  |
3:30 AM I actually like to pile the non-edge pieces up in the lower left and do the edges first. It still works and you never lose a white piece that way. It doesn't matter what the picture is.

I truly love the overall cool palette of this photo. The warmth of the sunset/rise finishes it off quite nicely! I think most of us discovered the trick of stacking all the pieces and then assembling in order, etc. BUT -- that surely takes away all of the fun and challenge of working the puzzles , so most of us don't do it that way....

I'm with you Kay and I think most of the other "puzzlers" in that the auto-rotation feature takes away from the enjoyment and challenge of what we come here to do. All the new players think they have discovered a profound secret.
