The beach is Anglesea, on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. Technically it is a very good surf beach. When the surf is running, the flat, sandy bottom produces long, consistent rides.

Ian, how beautiful! The stuff of dreams for us Middle Atlantic Americans - today began with cold, then snow - lovely, puffy flakes - then sleet, then rain, then just gray and unlovely, all in the space of two hours - oh, how nice that we had weather! Lots of it! I shouldn't mind a brief respite at your beach!

I'm not much for swimming and I've never even seen a surfer except on TV, but I can imagine wading here, the warm sand squishing between my toes and the cool waves lapping at my ankles! Thanks for a lovely break in mid-February!
