Very interesting photo. Whoever took it is flying with Qantas so I'd say it is an Aussie photo.

Anne, it is actually one of mine. My lovely family gave me a Christmas pressie of a flight to Antarctica. It was a day of pure magic.
So far nobody has picked the intentional error - it should be Mt Southard, not 'My Southard'. Someone must have transposed the 't' and 'y' keys.

Well, that wasn't so hard after all...but...certainly not easy. Antartica looks like the last place on earth that I would want to visit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 |  |
Nice picture. Too cold, though.

More snow, which is cooling to see in our Australian Summer.
Ian what a fantastic present this would have been - it's not everyday one gets to travel to Antartica. Perhaps we will see more of your photos on this site, thank you for sharing.

As soon as the comment came up I knew it was one of Ian's picture. This is the 2nd photo from over Antartica, right Ian?

Whrn I saw all that white I thought I was in a snow blizzard!!

Ian, you are so lucky to have flown over Antartica - one of the last 'frontiers'.

Keep submitting your photos - I enjoy seeing them (especially the one in the Hawkesbury).

Sorry for my typo - should have been 'when'.

So many different shades of white!!!

Debbie/Alexandra Hills, I have some more and will include a couple in a day or so. I have always been fascinated by Antarctica and the stories of heroism that emerge from the continent. My kids, bless them, picked up my interest and gave me this wonderful present. The flight was four hours down, four hours over the continent and four hours back to Sydney.

Greg, there is another on my flickr site of the Priestly Glacier but I don't think it has come up yet. I think that the Mt Southard one is on its second showing.

Rob/Richmond I have a few more from around Richmond that I will dig up and submit. Just give me a few days though - we haven't unpacked from our holiday yet and Christmas is approaching at supersonic speed.

Great pic Ian, but hades we wouldn't dare pick up a mistake, intentional or unintentional, it's not nice you know!!
 |  |
Not as difficult as I thought it might be. Very pretty photo.

Greetings from the Future!
That cliffs - I first thought I was assembling a checked shirt of a person leaning to the plane's window!
