Talk about anything and everything, but place your comments in the right categories so that people on slow internet connections can still enjoy the site. Also, be nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

No Anne next weekend, 21st, 11ish at Bronte!!

This is an old pic of Ian's of the old Temperence and General Insurance building in Albury, which now houses a Pancake Parlour. Or at least did when he took the pic. Great deco style!
Lemon and sugar was the traditional topping for pancakes (or pikelets) in our house, but we also had them with butter and vegemite!!

Hi Bluey - lemon and sugar sounds good to me, but my American trained tastebuds are not ready to try butter and vegemite! My family's favorite is huckleberry syrup.

ntd, Marmite is definitely not the same as Vegemite. Ma might claim it is, but any self-respecting Aussie will know the difference in a blind taste test.

My Gran would put the Marmite in the Vegemite jar to try to get someone to eat it but even that didn't work. Vegemite is great, but not on pancakes though. I think that the US banned the import of vegemite a few years ago but I don't know it that has been lifted. You might have to find an ex-pat Aussie and get them to share their secret stash. Cheers sveryone

Spent a month in the US in DC last year. Took our own Vegemite though. Didn't see it anywhere over there.
