There is a huge orange Chihuly hanging in the entrance to the Beach Art Museum on the campus of Kansas State Univ. If I could figure out how to size pictures correctly for this site, I would take a picture of it.

I still believe that man spent much of his youth on acid.

I saw the Chihuly exhibition on it's opening night in Canberra and went to the lecture he gave here. amasing. Just so many pieces of amazing colours. I wish I could have seen the studios when I went through Seattle.
Cheers to all

I would love to see that. I saw a piece that he made for a botanical garden in the UK, maybe Kew, and it made me long to see some of his work in real life as opposed to just on TV. It was a stunning piece and how they got it there intact was also amazing. Maybe being on acid when he was young inspired him to his art which is truly psychedelic!

Many of his installations are made up of quite a few "pieces." When setting up an exhibit, often extra pieces are shipped, in case of breakage and other parts put in place. I think the first botanical garden exhibit of his works was at the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago. We went twice, as there was so much to see! We really love his work!
