I didn't like this one, it was quite difficult. Beautiful crafts though!

Good morning, Rebekah. It looks hard, atleast no white. I'll do it later. Too early for me to try this one.
 |  |
This one took me forever! I was blind from looking at the grey bits!
 |  |
I'm getting 'gooder'.
 |  |
These are some wooden ornaments made by my talented brother.
 |  |
If 'my brother' took up knitting instead, it would be easier for us!
 |  |
A lot easier than I expected. Subtle differences in the greys.
 |  |
Always wanted to be a 'turner',lovely figures!
 |  |
Well, that was nowhere near as hard as I thought it was going to be.
Diane from Toronto - I love your comment.
Are you going to meet Keith when he goes to Toronto soon?

What is a turner? We probably have a different name here in Ireland for it.
 |  |
rebekah- i'll hazard a guess that a turner is a lathe- used by what we canucks would call mill work a good puzzle for me today- it reminded me to add pepper corns to my grocery list, my grinder/mill is almost empty

Just found this site. I'm hooked - and now working through the archives, already finished
Sept/07 and up to date in Oct.

I like this picture! It was a great puzzle.

Thanks, Ian.
Rebekah, in Australia we call it wood turning & the guy is a wood turner because some pieces are made when the piece of wood is fitted to a spike then turned while the wood worker chisles it & later sands & polishes it! A fitter & turner however is a mechanic who makes & fits bits for engines!

Better late than never - not as daunting as at first it seemed. Great pic, Ian, and great turning, brother!
 |  |
Great hard pic Ian, lots of trial and error which I love!! And great turning Ian's brother!!
 |  |
I agree with everyone...this puzzle was HARD...
brother has talent.
 |  |
A fun puzzle! Ian your brother is very talented.
 |  |
To all of you who agree that my brother has talent, normally I would pass on your comments to him, unfortunately last night he and his wife left for a month of grandchild-sitting for his kids in Hong Kong and Amsterdam.
 |  |
So far one of my favourites.
 |  |
Oh thanks for the description Kate! We would call him a sculptor here in Ireland or a wood carver!
 |  |
This wasn't as hard as I thought it would be evening all it's 10.30 pm in NZ
 |  |
Rebekah, these objects were turned on a wood lathe from long pieces with a square cross-section. They were then sanded in about seven stages with sandpaper of increasing fineness to bring up a lovely polish. They were finished with a light coat of natural waxes and oils.
