I have only just seen the peahens in the paddock. The answers to the question made me have my morning giggle. Thanks to all

What beautiful countryside, Keyan! Is there a "peacock crossing" sign?

Peacocks are suppose to be good 'watchbirds'. If someone is on one's property, they will set off alarm shrieks and follow after the person. Good shot, Keyan!

Great conversation starter, Keyan! Peacocks certainly do make a horrible, screeching noise if anyone intrudes on their space. You must have been in the right place at the right time to get this shot. Wonderful start to today!

What an amazing sight to see on your way to work. Can you imagine if he had lifted and fanned his tail, now that would be a real show stopper...

To look beautiful on both sides of the road of course!
Kay, you are right about their noise. Many years ago, before I knew what it was, I went running out of my house at full speed because I thought I could hear a child yelling 'Help, help'. Felt like a right galah when I found out it was the neighbour's peacocks!

Great photo! But it would have been awful if you'd thought it was the peacocks, but was a child!!
