everyone. This is a very pretty street scene. Is Braidwood a small city, or does this quiet street just give that appearance?

Good Maen. According to Wikipedia, population was 996 in 2001. This appears to be "downtown".

That is a typical country town scene and it could have been taken from any one of thousands of Aussie towns. Nice photo Kate.

Braidwood is a small town half way between Canberra and the coast (about 45 mins drive from here). It is very old and most of it is heritage listed. It was once used as the town in the "On my Selection" movie with Dame Joan Sutherland playing "Mum" and Kerr playing "Dad", from the "Dad and Dave" Fame (old Aussie folk lore to those overseas)

Also Mick Jagger stayed there when he was playing Ned Kelly in the 1969 movie of the same name!

Ian, this scene could be anytown, USA as well. It reminds me of my hometown. Sometimes I think I would like to go back to small town living -- but I probably would miss all of the cultural events (concerts, art shows, theater, etc.) too much.

Beautiful little town. We often stop for a break on our way to visit the Inlaws, who live on the coast.

I love living in a small town, especially with the convenience of only being an hour away from the centre of the state capital!
