Happy Birthday America!

Gurgle, Gurgle, Gurgle!! Translation:

Happy Independence Day!
I am not totally underwater yet, but my tank (pond) is turning into a lake. I have a gorgeous view morning, instead of waking up to Girlie-girls demand for something to drink I have a wonderful sunrise, which brought hope. More...

I hope you are away from the flooded sections in your area. It must be awful and we are in the beginning of a drought! Happy 4th.

Happy Independence Day America. Great photo, I had to complete to know what it was.
ps-stay safe Karen, our thoughts are with you.

We'll be waiting for your sunrises & sunsets, Karen. Isn't our world an amazing place -- all at the same time we have droughts & floods, winter & summer, sunrises & sunsets....

It's 11.15pm on the 4th! I should be in bed. It's weird! Did you know you're taller when you get out of bed in the morning (or night, if you do shift work)? It's because as the day goes on your disks (little 'sponges' between your vertebra) compress a little & while you're asleep they expand! Just More...

Thanks for your concerns, we are fine. It is like I have a moat around me. There are roads on all sides of me that are closed and we have a bridge washed out (so that road is closed too). I can still get out if I wanted to. The five counties that surround me though are being considered state disasters now. We did make Goodmorning America.

Interesting gargoyle.

That is an ugly looking thing, but, interesting.
Hang in there Karen..soon Texas will go back to its usual summertime drought.

Happy Independence Day! Last July 4th we were in Denmark and chanced upon a Danish-American Day 4th of July celebration. What a hoot when I saw the Alaskan flag and then searched for NY, and realized what was going on. Karen, keeping you in my thoughts on this special day, and hope you can do some celebrating soon!

We are enjoying our 4th of July. Went swimming this morning in a friend's pool and we will have a cook out later. Then, maybe catch some fireworks. Happy Birthday, USA!

Karen, I'm glad to hear that you seem to be surviving the downpour. I hope that the rains stops and your life returns to normal as soon as possible.
 |  |
Ooops - one of the two words 'rains' and 'stops' should be singular - I don't mind which.
 |  |
Looking forward to seeing that sunrise Karen!

You would not believe not one drop of rain has fallen out here all day. Speedy and Dad went to pick up some sparklers and the weather man put us under a flood watch for the rest of the night.

By the way, I am not complaining about the rain. I love it, and like Pat said, drought is on the way!

Without having to Google it...what is the difference between a griffin and a gargoyle?
 |  |
Big Red a gargoyle is just a grotesque gutterspout. Whereas a griffin/griffon or gryphon (all correct) is a mythical creature with the head & wings of an eagle & the body of a lion! The gargoyle is real, the other is magical!

Is it only my picture, but is the thing, sideways??? I want to rotate it.
