Talk about anything and everything, but place your comments in the right categories so that people on slow internet connections can still enjoy the site. Also, be nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

Good Maen all!
I have always wanted to visit this spot in person. I wonder how deep into the rock the entrance goes?

I have seen places designated as World Heritage Sites that I wondered how they had attained such status; Petra, however, seems almost the quintissential World Heritage Site. I will do my part to save it for future generations by never going there, happy to see in photos that it still exists.

What a beautiful place to be. I agree with jim though, that in order to preserve it, photos are the way to go.

I visited Petra a couple of years ago.If properly controlled I think the tourist dollar can help with the maintenance and preservation of some of our heritage sites.
